Every time I've been there lately it looks like a ghost town. Used to always be a wait if you got there at 7pm on a weekend. Can't imagine the economy made that big a difference. Any scoop?

We go there most sundays after church and have to wait 10 to 15 minutes to get a table. Haven't been there at night in about a year.I might have to try it this weekend to see if what you said holds true. Never had a bad meal there in my life!

Up there last Thursday night, about 7 pm. They were crowded and down to their last two slices of pie. Same great food and service.

I had my 1346th good meal Fri night. Redfish was fresh, and half of my wife's steak was great. I have noticed it slow on Fri nights, but that is mostly been bc of football games.

I'm there pretty often. Me and my grandpa ate there every Wednesday night for about 3 years before I moved to Meridian for a couple years. Need to get back in that routine!

{edited for the right day (I think, now that I think about it, it could of been tuesday but regardless me and grandpa ate there alot!)

Need to lay off the booze I reckon}

When did they start opening on Mondays?? I have always known for them to be closed... Im going to have to ask Johnny about that....

Sorry I meant Wednesdays! Brain fart, it was when I was in scouts and now my little brother is in scouts there meetings are Mondays, ours were Wednesday's!

Nope. That was my fault, it's been awhile and I got the days mixed up!

I used to put pennies on the train tracks in front of the Crystal when we would go in to eat and hope a train would come by and smush it when I was young. I also remember always getting a hug from Mrs. Ballas when I walked in and her letting me get whatever gum or candy I wanted out of the case. Always asked where my grandmother was and if she was'a feeling alright. Then the doorman would always ask me how school and all that junk was! Then there was the Filet of flounder I got pretty much every time. I think it got so bad, Mrs. Rivers wouldn't even take our order she would just ask what sides my grandfather wanted because he always got the same stuff too. I know he is there at least once a week for lunch and usually picks up dinner a time or two a week too. I don't go as much as I used to but still enjoy it when I do go. I try and go a few times a month at least!

Good times at the Crystal Grill and a bunch of memories!

Two boys from the camp were in there Friday night and swore they had the finest filet they'd ever eaten. I usually try to hit the Crystal Grill at least once during the season. I made my annual pilgrimage to Lusco's opening weekend for a good birthday meal. It was outstanding as always.

I must have hit it when there was some local event keeping folks away. Glad to know the good ole' Crystal is still popular with everybody!
