I'm working on putting together a lease anywhere between 500-1300 acres of bowhunting only land in Hinds county. Some of it is a big block of land and some of it is scattered out. But it is all within 3 miles of each other. It could be hard for me to get it together because there are several land owners but it has plenty of deer and it definitely has quality bucks in this area. I have hunted this area for the past 9 years and I have seen bucks that range from the smallest all the way to the 170 class bucks. Every year I have taken some good bucks and for the last 9 years i have at least had an encounter with a 140+ buck or better!!! It may be expensive to get some of this land but if I can get the land, I promise you it will be a waiting list to get to hunt it within about 2-3 years. It's a mixture of fields, cutover, hardwoods, Lakes, creeks, Pines and everything in between and there is about 800 acres(Can't get this property) that are right in the middle of this property that doesn't get hunted at all!!! I don't know what the cost will be or how many acres it will be in the end or if it will even exist by next september. My question is,

If I can get this land and get it organized, Would you be interested? If you are, send me a pm with your contact info and your budget on how much you are willing to spend on a Bow Only Camp so i know how far I can go with the negotiations!

Coming from downtown jackson, you could be in your stand in 20-25 minutes. Coming from Madison, 30 minutes and brandon 30 minutes. I been wanting to do this but it has taken some time for me to gather all the information! I believe if i can get enough people that are serious about bowhunting all year and we can get enough money together we could have a fine place to hunt for several years!

Turkey hunting would also be available and no you can't get in just to turkey hunt!!!! There are several Turkeys in this area!!!!

You could use a shotgun on some of it for sure but hopefully we can use a shotgun on all of it. I will have to look it to the guidelines with the firearms in the city. You can deer hunt with a gun in the city of clinton and I'm hoping we could use a shotgun to turkey hunt inside the city limits but some of the property is outside the city limits and that i know you can gun hunt. If we can't gun hunt then we can use some blinds and bowhunt some of these turkeys in the city limits.

Thanks for the PM's everyone!!! I knew it wouldn't take long to get people's interest!!! I already have about 12 people that have committed and their budget.

The more I look into it, there is possibly even 250-500 more acres I may be able to acquire that are solid hardwoods!!!

This bowhunting camp could possibly be between 1700-2000 acres!!! I promise you it's well worth a $1000 just to deer hunt it. I know of 40 acres that I would pay 1000 by myself to hunt!!!

If you have 12 continuous acres in the city limits you can legally shoot any type of firearm for hunting purposes

That's what I thought!!! I wasn't positive but thanks for clearing it up and if that's the case then yes we can turkey hunt all of it with a shotgun!!!
