Spinners/Roto-ducks

You hunters out there use roto-ducks or spinners as decoys? When I first heard about them and used them I could not believe how effective they were. Some hunters did not like them for that very reason; kind of took the art out of calling and set-ups, etc...too easy. In Oregon, they are not allowed for waterfowling. Here in California, they can be used in the second half of the season. What do you guys think of them? Anyone still use them?

Oh, there's plenty around these parts that still use them.
Personally, I wish they'd outlaw them across the nation.

I put out nothing but spinners, usually 10-12 depending on the phase of moon and what stage of rut is in. No other decoys, just the spinners. Works great.

A spinner is a flat oval painted white on one side and dark brown or black on the other side. The oval is rotated or spun with a motor so that the dark and white side flash at about 500 rpm. It is like a roto duck without the body of the decoy, just the the wing or spinning part.
