I have a just purchased a boat and it is in its original silver aluminum color and I want to paint it and put a blind on it. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to paint it yourself or know anybody who would tackle this job commercially?

Thanks in advance.

agent rb... If I were you, I would check into getting the boat camocladded. I have a buddy that got the bottom half of his truck done, and it looks very good. I think you can get the boat done for about the same amount as getting painted. But if you are wanting to get it painted with like mossy oak or something, I would check with war eagle. Auto trim in Pearl does the camo clad. HOpe this helps

This guy is in SC but will sell stencil kits and ship them to you. In the package is complete instructions on how to use the stencil kits, base colors, patterns, metal prep. Pretty simple to do yourself and if you clean the stencil after using it, you can use later when you need to touch up after abusing it all season.

I would go with the stencils cause I have a friend who has a boat camocladded and one that he stenciled and the one he painted is holding up better.

I agree, the stencils are the way to go and unless you want the boat to look like it was camo from the factory you can even make your own stencils out of cardboard or something (the ducks wont care if it looks like mossy oak or not). I painted my boat about five years ago with the cheapest spray paint I could find. I just sprayed the entire boat with brown, grey, and black; then I used the stencils and went back over it. A little touchup job once a year and it still looks good. The entire process was complete in a couple of hours and cost less than $20.

Thanks guys.... I thought about the camo clad but if it doesn't hold up that well it will be money down the river. I like the stencil website and I'll probably go that route.

C jones....looks like we're neighbors...I live just north of you in Magee. Maybe we can get together sometime and do a little duck killing around home.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.
