A part of the casino?........no, affiliated, well.........yes. The Choctaws own and operate the casinos and the waterpark. However, the waterpark is west of the casinos on hwy. 16 so you wouldn't necessarily have to go to the casino in order to get to the waterpark, you with me?? If you have small kids you will really get a BANG for your buck. It's worth the trip in my opinion. They keep it clean as a pin and if you go during the week the crowds aren't so bad. The only problem I've had is that there are too many fat women down there. So don't go for the scenery, I didn't know they made swimsuits that big.........

Hey FARMDUX,
I assume your basing your question on a spiritual basis. One fact that you have to look at is that the waterpark would not have been built if it were not for those casinos up the road. The park appears to me to be a place where moms and dads can drop off their kids while they go to the casinos. If your church is having a debate over this park, that is good enough of a reason just to be safe and not go. If you don't go, you lose nothing. If you do go, you and your church could lose your testimony. That is just my conviction on the issue. Ask God. He will lead you and your church.

peewee and gunner i appreciate the input, but the church decided against it since there is a lagitimate business closer with no questionable ties, rapids. it really pulled some feelings out in our church but now i feel the right decision was made. sometimes when your in doubt, you can feel the pull the right way, and it feels good!

Can you people be any more ridiculous? My family and I were just over there for the 1st time Monday, and that waterpark is no where close to the Casinos. As a matter of fact, you can't even see them or have to drive by them to get to Gyser Falls theme park. All the hundreds of kids we saw had parents w/ them....no drop off day-care situation that we could tell. If you don't go, your kids have ALOT to lose....pure, clean fun, 2nd to none in this state. As for losing 'your religion' if you go, nothing there even implys gambling or the support of casinos. Give it a rest....

aj,
It really depends on what direction your coming from as to wether you go by the casinos or not. By the way, nobody ever said anything about someone losing their religion. "Testimony" was the word. If you want good clean fun that is second to none, come with me to my church and worship with us. After all, there is nothing more exciting than worshipping our Lord and Savior. Why is it so "ridiculous" too ask your creator for guidance?

Dont go to Biloxi because everything down there is funded or has ties with the Casinos.

travling from the delta one wouldn't have to go by the casinos.. the kids would have no idea that casinos were anywhere around... the park is a first class operation that all mississippians should visit.. the guy who designed this waterpark is the most notiable waterpark designer in the nation... let me ask u this if the guy who owned rapids was a person of no faith would u still go to his park???

bigh2o,
you guys are missing the point, i didnt ask physical location, i said affiliation, not how close to the casino. its the whole point the place was built with gambling proceeds, and one has a choice whether to go or not. i personally dont go to casinos, and dont approve of them, but i have lot of friends that do and thats their choice. i work hard for what i have and want something to show for it instead of giving it to a one armed bandit that is rigged by a computer. as for you religous question about rapids, Jesus mingled with unbelievers to bring them to Faith, so there is your answer. also my kids wouldnt be missing out on a life experience if they didnt miss that one water park, weve done all of them in fla. so we will just wait til next year and hit another one done there.
