You fellas kept talking about Hoover's suace and steakhouses. I have a gallon of Hoover in the fridge and Kroger has whole ribyes on for $4.70 a pound. Looks like it was to be, so i went home last night and marinated a 2 inch Ribye in Hoover. Should be just right tonight when it hits the grill.

all you need now is a some horseradish - not the sweeter kind, the sho nuff if you get too much you know it - make your eyes water and open up the sinuses kind. lil dab'll do ya on each bite of steak!

I like hoovers on my steak. But you can marinate them too long and they will turn super sweet...almost too much. I prefer to marinate mine in a zip lock bag with hoovers, a half a beer, a splash of dales, a splash of woshtershire, and a little italian dressing....more hoovers than anything. Let marinate for 30-45 minutes and spoon on during cooking. when i take them off, spoon a little more...serve on the rare side of medium rare. But to make a good steak, you must first start with good steakes

true, for straight hoover, 30-60 min is plenty. i'll stab mine with a fork all over once i put the hoover on to get it all inside - the holes seal in the first 5 minutes of cooking and you don't lose any of the juices contrary to the way it sounds as though it would.

Or you could just get a good piece of meat. Add salt and pepper. Heat grill to 500 or so. Sear on both sides. Drop temp to 300. Cook to medium rare.

agreed!! we buy a 4-H beef every year and get all the good cuts extra lean and have the rest ground into burger extra lean.. it tastes 10000000x better than any store bought beef... all i do is fork good on both sides and pour my marinade over it..

i use a splash of dales or soy-sauce, lots of worchestershire, salt, pepper, and cavenders.. i heat mine on the stove a little then pour in a zip bag with meat and shake it around good.. got light my charcoal grill up and wait for it to get just right... i cook close to coals so i get a good sere on the meat.. but i only turm my steaks ONCE and use tongs so i dont pierce the meat.. i like my just over rare.. just so middle doesn't look raw and grainey...

It turned out some kind of good. I eat mine just seared on the outside and raw in the middle. Cooked over a HOT fire, the hoovers caramelizes on the outside. Good stuff for sure.
