There's really no correct answer.We relly need to know what shell your using and what kind of hunting your doing.Then you will still get several answers.You will need to get a tube and several different loads to see which patterns best.BTW-welcome aboard

My best advice would be to research choke tubes and go with the one you receive the most positive feed back from. Then you will have to pattern your gun with that tube and several different ammos [(size 3" and 3.5")(shot size BB,1,2,3,4)(powder 1.25oz., 1 7/8 oz.)] Sorry that I am not more help but all guns pattern differently even from one 870 to the next. Me personally I shoot a patternmaster (one of the old ones) and BBs most often. I like to kill em dead and not have to do any shooting on the water before the dog is sent to pick em up. Thats what works for me and my gun.

Can't go wrong with briley Extended LM and IM. I get great patterns out of both.

i shot your exact gun for a long time and i used a briley light mod. LOVED IT!
i switched to an M1 and bought they same choke for it...

Kick's High Flyer full choke with Kent 3' #3's. Best I used thus far!

my favorite (I have a Briley, Patternmaster, and Kicks) is the Kicks High Flyer. Patterns the best for me. I shoot the Winchester Dry Loc #3.

My dad shoots a Briley and he loves his. I shoot a Carlson and I love the way mine shoots. The pattern, with the same shells, about the same...

The Patternmaster works the best out of my gun when shooting shot smaller than #2's. The Briley LM shoots BB and BBB the best out of the same gun.
