What I used to do was clean (if necessary) and dry the jacket. Then put some newspaper etc on the floor, put jacket on floor, heat the tin of wax in hot water (ease top off the lid and put tin in water in saucepan - careful) then apply the liquid wax by wiping it onto the jacket with something like an old teatowel. Rub well to spread it around.
It will look uneven, but when you've finished you can run a hot hairdryer over it and have another go with the teatowel to even it up a bit.

Re: Re waxing coat???
It's easier if you put the coat on an ironing board while you wax it. But take the ironing board cover off, or you will wax it as well as your coat.

How long will it take for the wax to work into the cloth like it use to be...

I did mine in the garage. Wipe it clean. Warm with the blowdryer. Apply wax. I usually gets inthere pretty quick. within a wearing or two. Re warm with the blowdryer if it is clumpy on the surface.

Easier Method is to: Clean the coat of any dirt, blood, debry. Get a can of spray wax (if its a coat get two cans) put the coat on a hanger, zip it up and close the storm flap and hang it up outside I do mine hanging from garage door. Apply liberal amounts of wax all over the coat, pay special attention to the shoulder seams, storm flap and arms. Let it sit for about 20 minutes. Then turn the coat completely inside out while leaving it zipped closed and throw it in your dryer for 10 to 15 minutes this will seal the wax into the fibers. Take it out turn it back inside out and hang it up your ready to go. You can get spray wax online or in older hardware stores or call McAlister Company they sell it everyday. Mcalisterclothing.com

Ark thanks a ton. Just talked to drake/mcalister 15 bucks a can. Do you wipe and work it into the cloth or just spray it on.
