Lake Bogue Homa Teal Hunt?

I got drawn for the Lake Bogue Homa Teal Hunt 9/18. I took my boat down the other day just to check out the layout of the lake. It looks good. My only concern is that it is too far south for the early season teal hunts. Does anyone have any information about last years early season teal harvest? Im debating on whether to even try that far south this early or to haul my gear up to Sardis or even the Ross Barnett. Any thoughts?
Thanks

Hope this doesn't sound harsh as I don't mean it to but why would south affect your teal harvest? I hunt WAY south of you, and we murder the teal every year most years killing in the triple digits during teal season. Also most teal winter in Mexico and parts further south than that. I don't think your location is too far south. I know absolutley nothing about Lake Bogue Homa however but if there aren't teal I don't think it will be from being too far south.

it aint too far south but it may be too far east. you wont kill anything if you dont go. i have hunted there in the past during regular season and have seen all species common to other parts of ms. not sure on early season teal though never heard of anyone hunting early teal there.

went to it two times last year. Got skunked first day. Went the next weekend and it was a little cooler and killed six. If you can get in touch with the guy that runs the lake(cant remember his name.) but he can tell you exactly how many were killed in early teal.

I went last Sunday. Didn't see any teal. Saw a couple of big ducks, but too far off to tell what they were. I have never hunted ducks south of the rez. Just didn't know about the duck hunting down south. thanks for the info though.

Danny Evans is the guy that is over the lake. We generally kill our limit of teal every year. Be very careful running in the upper end of the lake, lots of stumps just underneath the water. Good luck.

Thanks. When I scouted the area the other week I used a push pole most of the time. Well I hope there are teal there this Friday. If not I can use it for more scouting for the regular season....
