I am thinking about getting a new phone this week. I am trying to decide if I want the Hero or not. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Picked one up last night. So far it's been great. Bit of a learning curve, but the Cell South website has lots of good info. (Setting up email etc.) Moved from ATT/Samsung BJII to CellSouth/Hero. Best part is my wife and I can now make phone calls from the house without having to walk outside.

I had the curve and got a HEro about a month ago. I love the WIFI feature and emails seem easier. Text you have to get use to, well I did anyway this was my first touch phone.

Picture messaging is an extra $5/month on CellSouth. Know you can send it from Hero but not sure about Iphone receiving it.

No MMS now. You can send pics as an email attachment, though.
One thing I wish the Hero did have is Google Maps with navigation. I've read that it will be available with 2.0 early in 2010.
Posting from a Hero now.

Gotcha....I got my wife one and still have my blackberry. When I changed to the 79.99 plan the girl just said that didn't include pic messaging that was $5/month more per phone. I usually just attach it to an email anyway.
