if you've checked the exhaust hose and it isn't stopped up, most likely heating element. they are usually pretty easy to replace.

We had the heating element replaced in ours last week. The total bill for parts and labor was $125.

Ditto what they said. Heating element went out in mine this past summer cost around 100 to fix.

It's very easy to fix this yourself. Get the make/model - google the heating element part # then go to ebay. I got a new heating element shipped for about 20 bucks. Prices will vary based on model/shipping. took me 10 minutes to take replace the part.

+1 on the Ebay advice. All appliance parts can be found much cheaper on Ebay. I got a thermostat for our oven a couple of weeks ago for $44. Next cheapest one I could find was +$100.

You need to diagnose the problem before just replacing parts, yes, it could be the element, it could also be the thermostat,high limit, high limit fuse, timer, and a couple of other things. What brand is it? That makes all the difference in the world.

Check the voltage first.It will run off 110 but won't heat unless you have 220 volts....

I heard a story from my watch partner here on the ship just this morning about the time he lived in York, Maine and came home after having a few beers to find the light on in his laundry room, the place in a mess, and a naked woman hidding in the clothes dryer! TRUE STORY! She was bi-polar and off her meds, and while wandering through the woods surrounding the house he was renting, fell into a muddy, boggy area just around dark. She decides to try the door(unlocked) and goes in to wash her clothes. Made a racket and mess to scare anyone in the house from coming out there(her logic). When Mark came home @9p.m., she jumped in the dryer to hide! Petit young(24) school teacher from a well to do family next town over!

Easy easy to replace. Your dryer normally has two elements, one for the low / delicate setting and a second one comes on for the high / normal setting.

Open the dryer door, push the button that makes the machine think the door is closed, and turn the machine on. You should be able to see the red glow from the element....

I fixed it, had a wire that came off....
