The Colt got turned into a Red Rider by the SEC.

Its never good when you can't feel your arm and hope he recovers.

Congrats to all you Bammer fans, great win for the SEC. Gotta give credit to poor ole Gilbert not to bad for a true freshman playing his first game on the biggest stage in college football. Dead arm, may wanna get that checked out.

Bamas the best team in the country, 287 rushing yards on the best rush defense in the country. Came out flat in the second half texas got back in it. Tainted what ever you want to call it, injuries are part of the game teams have to be able to recover. Bottom line, trophy is headed to T-Town.

I agree, I know injuries are part of it but no way that game comes out the same with McCoy in there. Bammer -7 on last play of first half anf Bammer -7 for late turnover in fourth quarter. Those points dont get scored with McCoy at the helm. Plus Texas had way more energy and enthusiasm to begin with. Kinda had the feeling of the booty whooping Bammer took last year before Mccoy went down.

Anyways at least gilbert made a game of it towards the end.

Congrats to Bammer...take em anyway you can get em I guess.

Our QB was playing with 2 cracked ribs. He was sacked like 5 times...

Alabama doesn't deserve the National Championship. Ingram didnt deserve the Heisman. This year was the lamest college season in history. Alabama is the worst 14-0 team to ever take the field. Colt mcCoy would have won the game if he wasnt hurt. Alabama should give the trophy to Texas. There should be an asterisk by this years Alabama team in the record books.

Congrats to the Tide!!!!!!!!!!!! and to the SEC!
Injuries are part of the game.
That freshmen that got thrown to the wolves is going to be a heckuva of a player. I thought he did a great job considering he took about 20 snaps all year and got thrown into the national championship with a brazilian people watching.

Actually I think bama would have played better if McCoy does not get hurt, once he went out they got cocky and went into a shell offensively. Ingram was playing with a foot injury he got in practice plus missed over a quarter with cramps, McElroy was playing with cracked ribs that kept him from even throwing for 2 weeks. To me that is what makes bama the better team, they do not rely on one person to win the game. If some of their players get hurt, they have others that can step it up. Also does McCoy play defense was he going to stop Richardson or Ingram.

Wait just a minute doc, Are you blaming the halftime int/td on the backup QB Gilbert? It was a shovel pass that hit the receiver in the hands, it does not matter who the quarterback is at that point. Also the fumble in the 4th was the result of a blind side blitz that any QB would have more than likely fumbled the ball. Now I agree texas would have been better offensively with McCoy that is obvious. But the points bama scored had nothing to do with who was at QB. Lets not forget that ole McCoy coughs up the ball a good bit too. Just look at the number of INTs he had thrown over the course of the year. Over 250 yards of rushing offense against the number 1 rushing defense says enough. Also Saban said that after they got up 24-6 they went very conservative on offense and that the game plan coming in was to throw more.

You also have to factor in that bama had for 31 days prepared to stop the mccoy to shippley combination. Mccoy gets hurt the entire defensive game plan has to change.

thats a fair argument, but I dont think the play call is the same at the end of tghe half with McCoy in there and the sack is fair as well but I think McCoy gets rid of the ball a bit faster...still could have happened I guess

and if TX offense gies TX defense a bit more rest then no way you stack up that many rushing yards but anyhoo ifs and buts...coulda woulda shoulda

game plans for both teams change and kudos to TX and Gilbert for hanging in there, and kudos to Bammer for doing what they needed to get the victory

not sure about McCoys injuries but the fact the announcers made it all about him was kind of disturbing although if I had a future waiting for me in the NFL I might not go back out either and risk further injury, but if I was his teammate and knew there was any chance he coulda played Id be upset at his selfishness

I was not for Bama or TX mind you, just was pumped about seeing a good game and only saw bits and pieces through out and TX did pull within three to make it interesting

and webbie I got an email earlier this year stating there were a LOT of asterisks by Alabama championships  ...no need for one by this one though and do like the fact that yet another BCS natl championship is held by an SEC team
