Neshoba County Luck!!

Postby kwacksmacker18 » Thu Jan 21, 2010 10:44 pm

Me and a buddy hunted the Pearl in Neshoba County this mornin. We killed 5 greenheads, a woodie, 2 gadwall and a greenwing teal. We got quite a few ducks starting to show up here. I would say it was good mornin; quite warm though. Ducks worked great, but were slightly call shy. You couldn't get nasty with em, jus had to sweet talk em. :D :D :D

Hey thanks for the report. Were y'all hunting on the north or south side of Hwy 16? I don't want to waste my time looking in the wrong area.

Awesome, I've been wanting to go for awhile now. I got 8 buddies with 3 boats coming up this week; we're going to look monday, we'll start there. We're going to try to spread out the boats in different spots to keep em flying. I can probably get up to 2 maybe 3 more boats involved if you guys want in on it.

Which side of the Pearl? 15? We got surface drives so getting there is no problem.

Also, what did your spread consist of? We gotta couple spinners and a vortex and CHIT TONS of shells! See yall out there!!!

We were hunting south side of 19. And we had 3 Baby Mojos, 2 Super Mojos, and 1 Mojo teal. We had probably right at 3 dozen decoys consisting of mallards, pintail, wigeon, and gadwall if that helps out any.

Thanks for the info, we're heading to bass pro today we'll stock up on all that. We got 3 more boats of local guys in on it. We we're thinking of putting 3 at burnside at 3 at 19? What do you think? We might possibly have 1 more boat to stick somewhere else. I'm sure between 19 folks we can scrape up enough for some extra mojos. We got the dekes covered and as said before, a chit ton of shells. They better not be scrapin the tree tops or we sky bustin them sam biches!

Where will you be hunting this weekend kwacksmacker?

We put in at Hwy 25 this mornin and jus barely scrapped out a lil over a two man limit. But what u said about puttin the boats sounds like a good deal to me. Only thing is I haven't seen that many big ducks at Burnside this year. But let me know how y'all came out!

The Yockanookany is loaded up with mallards as well. I'm not sure what the rule is about hunting high water but was told this morning by a guy that owns land adjacent to the bridge that it would be considered trespassing if I put my boat in and hunted there. I always thought that it was considered highway right of way but didn't want to take a chance on getting a ticket or getting in a fight with the guy so I loaded my boat back on the trailer and left.

From what little bit I know about it as long as you can get to it by boat you can hunt it. But I believe you have to put in at a public boat ramp. But below Lower Head Dam you have to hunt from a boat.
