Choseing a duck Call.

Im wanting to get a call soon so I can get real good for next season. I was told Haydel's DR-85. but I was also lookin at Echo calls, Trash Talker.

I think either one will work man! The Haydel is a pretty good one thats easy to learn on!

EVERY redneck within a 500 mile radius has a Haydels DR-85...myself included. That and any reputal whistle and your set to get started...should be able to get both for under $30. You'll manage to collect a few over time. Olt, Mallardtone, RNT, Echo, Follies, Yentzen...I like em all. I got an old unmarked wooden call I wouldnt take $500 for

ok thanks yall. Im gonna see if I can go by bass pro this weekend. and get the Haydels call, The other one probably wont be there and I don't wanna order it and waste so much money on shipping

Saw some DR-85's @ BP in Brandon for 'round $20......they've gone-up.....used to get'em for $11.95. You might get the call with CD.....they had those, too.

the call with the cd is the way to go. If you do this get the zink one, think they have it in like ph1 and ph2. This call was pretty easy to learn everything on.
Everyone has one of the dang haydel DR-85. Easy call to learn to blow into but I could never really do much with it.
Dont waste your money on the primo cd and call. Its not worth it. I bought it threw it away.

Get the DR-85. It's a ducky learner/keep the rest of your life call...

Get an Echo single reed timber call and pass on the double reeds.

You cant loose with the echo single reed. I also use a Foiles and like it almost as much.

I actually HAVE one of those, signed by Earl. Smells like tung oil, I guess that is what he used to finish them. Pretty cool. Takes a man with some serious lungs to ring that sucka!

I've had a DR-85 for 3 years. never had to tweek it, matter of fact never had to touch it. They're ducky calls and almost bulletproof.

I agree with chevy01234 about the Haydel's...best out of the package call in my opinion. I use hand turned calls but there ain't nothing wrong with the mass produced ones. I have adopted a Hambone that is now my favorite...took a long time to get tuned but it's by far the best sounding call that I have ever owned next to my original Southland (Hartley) call that I got 33 years ago.
