everyone (especially on this forum) seems to have pretty emphatic opinions about the health care bill yet when asked no one really even knows whats in it

now granted I understand the fear of uncertainly and certainly question lawmakers that have never read legislation they pass but how can so many have such stark opinions about something they truly know little about or have never read themselves?

For mr its more of a trust issue with the President and legislators. I don't believe a word they say.

Big Gov't and more spending ... I guess you could say I oppose it blindly.

I think weather you know what the bill consists of or not, it doesn't take a brain surgeon to know that this bill was
done in secrecy by the Dem's only behind closed doors and with that being said it obviously can not be trusted. They
didn't keep it so secret because it had GOOD STUFF that they were proud of in it. It had stuff in it that pursued thier own
political and financial agendas plain and simple. It will make them richer and make the tax payers poorer. That's how it
has been and the way it will continue to be.

They (Democrat party) do not even know what is in the bill themselves. Nancy Queen Pelosi herself said it needed to be
passed so that "we" could know what was in it. Now that it's passed "we" will get to find out what's in it.

I'm afraid this country is too far gone from what our fore fathers intended. All we can do is ride the ship to the bottom.

I'm a taxpayer and for my taxpaying years I have only seen my wealth increase...not substantially mind you, but increase none the less

and dont you like suprises?

I have read bits and pieces of it, not even close to the entire bill, these bills are very long. However the parts that i did read just didn't make sense to me. Why would you allow someone to wait until an illness ocurrs, or they need insurance for whatever reason and allow them to get it also not taking into account any pre-existing conditions. Then on top of all that, if you don't have insurance, which will be mandatory or you have to pay a penalty, why make the penalty less then insurance itself. Its a no brainer to me, don't get insurance, pay penalty, and hope you dont need it, then if you do you can go get it whenever you want with no repercussions???????? This is going to crush the health care industry that we have come to know. This is just a portion of the bill, there are many other facets of it that i don't like as well. again just my thoughts on the matter.

I just go off what the democrat's tell me and here's what Sister Nancy said last night...
Under this plan 32 million American's would have health insurance and will save us 1.3 trillion dollars..
Now you either tell me she didn't say that or explain to me how in the he11 we are going to cover every democrat on the south side of town and every Mexican that's here and WHERE IN THE HE11 IS THIS MONEY GOING TO COME FROM... Either tax the chit out'a us some more OR borrow a little more money from China.. Either one ain't gonna work. I'm taxed out and China is about ready to call the note due.. Does the Government have the money to pay them back?

Health insurance is now mandated.

You will get fined if you dont have it.

Self employed and the poor will be required to purchase it, and it will cost a % of their income.

Employers are required to offer it to their employees, or pay a fine

Insurance companies should be thrilled, that you are required to purchase their product.

Although I don't know much about the bill, I am against anything that raises my taxes and I don't get a proportional gain from. Make no mistake about it, taxes will increase as a direct result of the bill. You can't eat like a mouse and $#!+ like an elephant.

I'm a taxpayer as well and have also seen my wealth increase, but I can promise you one thing, it was not by the hand of the Gov. Dem or Rep.
that it increased. It was by the grace of God and my sweat and tears that it did.
Along with my wealth increase I've also seen my taxes increase at the same time. Healtcare costs also increase every year.....but with this new
bill that our fine goverment officials have passed, I'm absolutely positive that they will increase much more. With all the mandates that the new
health bill puts on the insurance companies it will cause them to increase everyone's rates to cover the cost that they will incure from all the
slackers and sick people they are being forced to cover. Also business will be forced to cover more or be penilized. Either way this costs them
money, which in turn they will have to pass on in the cost of their products, which again gets passed on to the consumer..... i.e. a tax on us.

The only surprise I'd like to see from the Gov. is that they all turn in their resignations. That would be a really welcome surprise.

Why don't I like this bill? Well this country was founded on Freedom and the ability to make descisions without fear of punishment by Parliament or other governing bodies. The fact that you will be required by law to make a purchase defeats the meaning of freedom. This is something that should be of the peoples choice. There are already government funded health care plans. They could have just improved them from there present form. The way it is now the mojority of the people that benefit from these health care plans take it for granted and abuse it. The new bill will be the same, set up around the Dems.

Hell. The House voted on it and they have not read or know what's in it!

Plain and simple, our country CAN'T afford the things we have in place already and the Dems want to add more free incentives for people that don't contribute to the economy or pay taxes as it is? It's a no brainer, leave things the way they have been and try to pay off some of our country's debt.

who would have ever thought that a drug dealer could have health insurance paid for by the government in which he doesn't pay taxes. it's all a bunch of BS if you ask me and we are now even closer to Socialization.
