I got bermuda and got weeds I know I can spray msma but what other stuff cam I put on it like something to put in spreeder Maybe buy at homedepot

I'm no expert, but I think MSMA is the only thing you can spray on bermuda when it is in its growing season and not hurt it. Now when the bermuda is dormant, you can go after the winter annual weeds. You can fertilize your bermuda and try to get it as healthy as possible. A healthy stand of grass is the best way to keep weeds choked out. Spot spraying the weeds is another option. Depending on what weeds you have determines the herbicide. Hope this helps.

Vigoro is what I have always used until the temps are up enough for MSMA

Grassy or broadleaf weeds? Trimec southern is a good one for most broadleafs and some grassy

Nothing you can buy at home depot! You can spray a light shot of Roundup/24-D on it up untill about mid April. But BE CAREFUL! It will smoke flowers and or tomato plants a LOOONG ways! Pint of each 4lb material per acre.

MSMA is not the only herbicide thats safe for bermuda its just one of the best. Unfortunately it cant be sprayed for another month or 2 because it needs the temps to be in the 80's consistantly for a few days. Trimec Southern, Surge, Speedzone, Powerzone, and Q4 are great herbicide for broadleafs on bermudagrass, as well as many others (most I use are univalible to the avg home owner other). The best route to go is to apply a pre emergent herbicide like Pendumethulym several times a year but its to late now.

It's not to late to spray a pre emergent. In theory it's never to late to apply pre emergent because weeds seeds will continually germinate throughout the growing season. You may have let some seeds germinate depending on where you live, but you can still apply a pre emergent. I prefer Barricade personally over pendelum, but that depends on the person. Both are good products.

Go get some Tri-Mec Classic from Tractor Supply, CO-OP, etc. and spray your broadleafs. It comes in quarts or gallon jugs and it's less than $20. Don't waste your money on Vigoro or any of that crap home depot sells. Mix in some type of pre emerge with the Tri-Mec and do a blanket application and this will help your yard out tremendously.

If your bermuda is still dormant I would spray it with round up, I just did mine about 10 days ago.

Just a little more info about MSMA. The higher the temperature, the better it works. And if your bermuda doesn't turn a little brown, you didn't put enough down. Normally about a quart to the acre is good. Also, this is the last year that it will be on the market. It is still available alot of places now, but later on in the year it will become scarce.
