Lost/Stolen Lab

I know this is a real shot in the dark, but I'm trying all aveneus to find my lab. He's been missing for 2 weeks this coming Thursday. We live south of Pelahatchie and I know there are several guys on here around that area and Puckett, so if you would keep your eyes and ears open. I really don't think that he just ran off, but I can't seem to determine why someone would pick up a full grown lab, therefore I still haven't jumped to any conclusions about where he may be. So if any of you guys down that way run across a roaming/lost/someone got a new grown yellow male lab all of a sudden, please give me a holler. He's a big block headed male yellow/white lab. Well mannered and trained. There have been some guys trimming powerlines around the house, and in the back of my head I really have to wonder if one of them picked him up. Anyhow, if any of you down that way run across one, let me know.

What kind of low life would steal a man's dog? Good luck I hope you get him back.

Yeah, thanks. I don't know. He's never been apt to run further than my parents house down the road and back. I believe if he was still close by, somebody would have seen him by now and called me.

I checked with the county dog catcher. He even knew the dog. What shelter are you referring to? Maybe I need to give them a call

Man feeling your pain! Same happened to me a few years back. Had my girl for 13 years and boom, gone, nowhere to be found, did the pound, looked in the ditchs, knocked on the doors, no luck! Only thing I could assume was someone picked her up. I'm out that way some, so I will keep a look out. Good Luck! TT

Another guy down the road from me lost his about a week before me as well. Yea, I tell you what, never thought losing my dog would bother me as bad as it has. I have had 3 false alarms where people have called and said come look at this dog that is near my house, only to get there and it not be him. That may be the toughest thing to do.

I have lost a dog for a few days before and it was a terrible feeling but keep looking and hopefully you will find him. Last year I was out in the woods at Sardis and found a rough looking lab, I called the number on the collar and he had been missing for 5 WEEKS so keep looking.
Are there any animal research/testing facilities around your area? I seem to recall reading an article a while back some no good naggers up in North MS got arrested for stealing people's dogs and selling them to a testing facility. When they arrested them and went to the facility they ended up figuring out they had stolen like 65 dogs and sold them to the company.
It definately sounds suspicious that someone right down the road from you had their dog disappear so soon as well, not to mention another forum member have a dog go missing in the same area too. Cmmj, did you ever find your brittany? Keep looking man and dont give up hope.

Plus those fools use stolen dogs to "train" their pits for fighting. I'm pretty sure thats what happened to my golden a couple years ago.

I know how you feel I have had mine go missing for bout a week once. I thought for sure someone had picked her up. Then a farmer bout 4 miles away that knew her called and told me to come get her she was at his shop. I know this is a lil different but my father and I last a Black and Tan coon hound at Merigold Hunting Club one Dec. We went every evening for two weeks to try and find him, and figured he had gotten torn up by a hog or maybe drowned since we were on the Niblet lake bank. 32 days later a guy living right outside Parchman called and told my dad he had a dog in his yard and it had a nameplate with my dads info. We got there and it was the one we lost. Go figure a month and god knows how many miles later he made it home.

Yea, I haven't found mine yet either and don't believe that I will. I understand the whole being gone for a month thing and then finding them with a hunting dog, but I don't think my lab would have ran off more than a couple of miles. Figure someone would have called by now if he was still around. I'm guessing either he went off and died somewhere, which I doubt but I have heard they will do, or someone picked him up. And about that %^&* with the pit bulls, I heard that same rumor a couple of weeks ago about that going on a lot. All I can say is it's probably best that I never find out that that happened and know who did it. I'd hate to know what I might do over a dog. Hate to think that that could have even happened.
