My browning gold will eject the shells but doesn't put the 2nd shell in far enough ,usually likes about a 1/4" going back up.

Oh! That's easy to fix! Throw it in the lake, and go buy a Rem 870!

wow that's weird. I hunt with 2 guys that are having the same problems with their Browning Golds. I'm with cajun.......I shoot a Rem 870 and it sat in the bottom of a flooded rice firld for 2 months. Took it to a gunsmith and the next season good as new. Damn I love that old stick of metal and plastic.

Wow, that's weird. I have 4 of them, two of which have a combined 70,000 plus rounds through them. They virtually never act up. It sounds to me like they need to clean the chambers with steel wool and jewlers rouge.

I had the same problem last week with mine. This is the third year I have hunted with it and had no problems until now. I broke it down, gave it a good cleaning and oilling. Problem went away. I had heard you could oil one too much and hadn't been putting that much oil on it. I told my hunting buddies I may look like Elmer Fudd after I shoot but I have too much invested in that gun for it to be a single barrel. I don't believe it is a mechanical problem , lubrication should do it.

MINE WILL DO THAT BUT IF YOU TAKE THE STOCK OFF AND REMOVE THE CAM YOU WILL PROBALLY SEE ALOT OF CARBON BUILD UP CLEAN IT GOOD BUT DONT RE OIL THE TUBE AND WILL BE BETTER THAN NEW

What you need is called a Sure Cycle. My Browning was doing the same thing until I talked to Truett Williamson in Magee who had replaced several of these. Apparently the metal used on the original guns would rust or oxidize, the latest guns use stainless steel. I think most gunsmiths are just now having these guns come in and are learning what the problem has been and are correcting this with the Sure Cycle. About $129.00 for the part plus labor

As a gunsmith I feel your pain! We usually see between 15 and 20 of these a year. The first thing to do is give it a good oiling, if problem still persist give it a good cleaning more so around the cam (lots of carbon build up). Having owned 2 SBE's and sold both since they jammed like a motor with a backwards cog, I would not trade one Browning for 10 SuperJamEagles. Keep that Browning halfway clean, and it will keep on ticking.

the only Browning Gold problem i have is that i don't have one and my huntin buddy does.. from ducks to doves i have never seen it fail... only wish i had one....

i have a couple buddies that have golds and they have had several different problems with theirs.one has had problems since his was new.does anyone know how to fix the firing pin going thru the primer cap?
i myself have a bps and am very satisfied with it.i am with alot of you guys on the sbe's.would not have one to prop the hood of my truck up.

I had the same problems with mine. Especially in really cold weather. I gave mine a good cleaning and spray lightly the magzine races with REM OIL. Since using REM OIL I have not had the problems. Hope this helps.
