Delta Blues Trail

Something I have been doing during my travels through the Delta with my new job is stopping and taking pictures of the Blues Trail sites.
I have been delivering medical equipment and traveling the Delta for 27 years. It's amazing how much things have changed in some parts (Tunica) and stayed the same in others.
Some of the sites were actually country stores. Back in the 80's there wasnt a Kangaroo or Gas Mart on every corner. The only 4 lane was the Super as my grandaddy called it. I-55. Most roads were gravel. As I have stopped at these sites it dawned on me that I had been in alot of these places. Asking directions, using the pay phone or buying something to drink. I miss the Delta of my youth. I really do. Thats why the Scatters thread got me back on here.
I guess Im getting older so I am starting to reflect more and more on things gone by. I am gonna keep looking for these Blues Trail Sites despite the fact some are just plain hard to find. Who knows, I may pull up to another one I have been to before.
Back then there were "jukes" everywhere. There were Po Monkeys all over the place. I not kidding I have sat in some eating a hamburger and asking directions. There were always lots of old black men sitting around playing dominos. Chances are some of those old men are now recognized on the marker where the juke/store once stood.
Damn I miss it.
