What have any of you heard about a possible closing of the duck season in Ark., Miss. & La., due to the oil situation in the Gulf and Coastal Louisiana.

Granted this is probably just a big rumor, but thought it might be worth mentioned if for nothing more than to dispel measures this drastic.

We have all heard the plans to hopefully short stop the migration, but this is crazy.

I guess we will all be headed to ALABAMA this year. Payback is a bitch!!!!!!

Anyways, there's too much money and politics involved for the seasons to be closed. They couldn't close just 3 states anyway. What good would it do? They'd still get hammered from Canada to Missouri.

+1, that is what i was thinking. why would they close it? the ducks gonna avoid the oil and decide not to come to these 3 states because there will be no one hunting them?
but it would be classice to give Bama a taste of what they do here

Without duck season, there are some Arkansas towns that would go belly up!!

I volunteer to take them to Guntersville the next day for a joyous Guntersville duck hunt and after they shoot two hen gadwalls and a coot, they will all be rabid Mississippi deer hunters. Better just go ahead and avoid the rush and get ya'll some "doe in heat" spray and some hunter orange.
