Teal and a Woodrow

Not a whole lot going on down in the PRWMA. I think that there were more hunters than birds. I thought that there would be more birds down. I killed bule wing and green wing and one woodie (all of my time in that marsh and that was the first wood duck ever). Someone has been using the yellow call! One of the blue wings that I got had been dinning on corn! I don't know much, but I know that corn does not grow in that marsh. Maybe the wild life and fisheries boys will check it out. Some action at the boat landing. Some people in a bass boat ran over another boat. Two ambulances and a fire truck. Took awhile before anyone could get their boats out. I don't know how bad anyone was hurt (it didn't look real good). Someone said that it happened well after day-light. Over all a good hunt, killed some birds, my old girl did a good job working this morning, and I got home safe. Hope that everyone has a safe and good day. Jack

Shoot them sprigs on their first pass!

well Jack we had a few ducks, shooting screwed us up and the old give em one more pass to be perfect screwed us up. However managed to kill two greys, a BW and a red head hen. Lacey picked up one of the grey ducks on the fall, so I was was okay with that. All in all happy with the ducks we saw, just didin't work out the way I wanted it to.

A lot of the same here. Saw a decent number of ducks (a little dissapointing for an opener), mostly blue-winged and green-winged teal, greys, and mottles. Let a few get by, missed a few, and shot some teal and greys...good time had by all.

Hunted PRWMA too Saturday and Sunday. Killed a limit on Saturday (all teal and one woodie), then Sunday only killed two (one greenhead and one teal). You're right about the corn. There's one spot that every single duck in the parish want's into, and those guys limited both mornings. I hunted the next pond over and had to watch the massacre--but I did let it slip out to the biologist exactly where it was.
