Charlie has had a chronic ear infection (yeast) and the vet says that it is likely the food. She said to stay away from Corn ingredients. Charlie has been on Pro Plan Puppy/Adult/Performance since I got him. To my knowledge the first ingredient on all of those is Corn. Anybody got any ideas.... does the enhance have corn as and ingredient? He is no longer training so the performance stuff is not needed anymore.

Thanks,
Jimbo

Had the old man Boomer dog on euk for the first 8 years of his life and he had chronic ear problems...switched (all my dogs) to arkat vf and been smooth sailing ever since...you might try the enhance first and then change to the vf if you need...

It's pricey but I switched to Taste Of The Wild. After a week I can see a difference in their coats which have always looked good on PP. TOTW has no grain in it. I only feed 2 dogs so it's not so bad on me price wise.

#1 Pet food of the Year: Here is a link to a review for you to read. Also read the White Paper on the Orijen website.
http://gripetfoods.com/PetFoodoftheYear.htm

I found it very educational and am switching to the Acana Brand.

What does the glycemic index have to do with dog food? It is very suspect in humans. For anyone who wants to REALLY understand the "glycemic index" and what is flaky about it, get any book on diabetes by Dr. Richard Bernstein (the guy who invented personal blood glucose monitoring).

Go read what is posted on website and you should get a clear understanding of why the reward was given? Any questions you have should be easily answered if you your basic comprehension of english is good and you also understand the fundamentals of canine nutrician.

Now if you have a bone to pick of some kind about their analysis and you are looking for a way to discredit them then, well thats another issue and it looks like you do and thats fine.

I posted it because I was aware the award was given, guy wanted to know where to find a good dog food.
I don't work for them, never have, get no benefits or discounts either.

LOL, my comprehension is not perfect, but it is pretty good, given I have a couple of college degrees and a doctorate.

I really don't care to "discredit" the award, Orijen is a much loved food among folks in Canada. But wonder why my asking a question about the glycemic index in canines given its limitations in humans provokes such a response? You a diabetic? You have a need to understand that stuff to stay alive? If your comprehension of the english language is pretty good, you will have a BALL with Dr. Bernstein and the issues with the glycemic index. On the other hand, if I have a question about canine nutrition, I don't generally go to a website, I just ask someone with either a masters or PhD in the subject. It cuts through the crap I have to read on the internet.

Peace out!

makes their ears and feet rosy red too!

Shoot, I had an old riding mower with a cracked deck and a broke key in the crank... put some klumpi in the tank over night, and the next morning it was purring like a kitten.

It'll fix anything cept the crack of dawn or a broken hart. travis

really, I left it alone thinking... no knowing someone would.

Jimmy Neely was bringing me a 20# bag of klumpi for the raffle before he got sidetracked. Told him raffle hell, we'd auction it off! travis
