They makin smoke poles that shoot good out to 250 now?! Not bieng a smart ass either just wondering?aweyerman wrote:You can use a 45-70 or similar single shot caliber rifle though. Alabama isn't the same as Mississippi, it blew my mind to know that you fella's can use a 45-70 instead of a muzzle loader. Although you can get more range and accuracy out of some of the modern muzzle loaders that's still pretty cool.
its definitely not as primitive as my first days shootin Dads ol Hawken, but there is still a big difference in shooting my 45-70 and my 30-06. Theres alot of shots that I passed last year with the 45-70 that I would have taken with the 06.Jeff wrote:WHY OH WHY do they just make it GUN season? Do away with "primitive"?
Yep they do, I don't know the brand/model of a close friend's muzzleloader.......but it will reach out there. He said it was fairly expensive though. I know it uses the smokeless powder.southernvaughan wrote:They makin smoke poles that shoot good out to 250 now?! Do not use smokeless powder in a muzzleloader. I dont give a rip what the manufacturer says. Take a look at these pics:Deltaquack wrote:Yep they do, I don't know the brand/model of a close friend's muzzleloader.......but it will reach out there. He said it was fairly expensive though.
