small boat options

I want to get a small boat for me and the dog. I’ve been looking at the Otter Stealth 2000. I’ve read some reviews and most are positive. Are there any other good options for us? Not sure if it would matter but I’m 6’5 240 and dog weighs 85ish.

Not being a smart_____ but your size 14' would be the smallest I's consider.

I got a otter and love the hell out of it!! I got a 2hp motor on the back and and with me and my dog I can get about 6-8mph and it will go and hide anywhere. It's great for hunting the little back water areas I got hunt.

The otter is a great little boat.. But get the bigger one. The little one is tight once you start adding decoys and gear.

Have hunted out of an otter- only dislike was the plastic constuction. If you forget to strap it down, it will explode in the middle of the hiway into pieces so small, never to be seen again (OSP). Momarsh DP, Gheenoe, Riverhawk, Fourrivers are other options that are fiberglass and can be repaired yourself. My 2 cents.

Yeah they work well in back waters and its sturdy. I think its weight capacity is 500 lbs.

Ditto. Got the 2000. Only downside to the thing is the weight and it paddles like a heavy john boat. I've boarded the thing from the side, front, in nipple deep water - stood on the front, back, side - you can't turn it over.

I'd get the Otter. They are a little heavier than a canoe but that's what makes them so stable. They're still lighter than a jon boat. A trolling motor on the side makes getting around a lot easier.
