I'm a solid conservative and vote mostly Republican......but is she really the best thing they can come up with to energize the base? Am I alone on this?

Been back and forth on her since she came on the scene, and its understandable why folks on both sides of the aisle find faults in her. She is a proponent of voting ideaologically instead of politicing (sp?). Sometimes it comes off too strong and sometimes it seems common sense imo. She needs to stick to fiscal reforms, border security and fair energy policies without extra taxes and stay out of the mud slinging.

She has stretched he 15 minutes way way too long. Time for her to fade away.

I still think she is going to throw her name in the presidential race.

I don't think she could handle a run for president. I think she's making out like a fat cat now and padding her bank account. When she bailed and resigned as Governor so she could go on the rubber chicken dinner circuit making 100K a pop.

She has done enough damage to the republican party. They won't let her near this important election.

It isn't the republicans you need to worry about. The tea party may be the real wedge. Eventhough I like some of their ideas their candidates could really weaken the rightwing base.

she's the worst thing that's happened to the republican party since it lost it's conservative values - republican and conservative (and, i'm talking MAJOR national politics here, not this board or someone running for circuit clerk in jonestown) should NEVER be used in the same sentence. BANK ON IT, she'll make a push for a candidacy (rep or tea party, she'll screw the country somehow).

last night was a good night for the republican party as far as i can tell................

i'm still waiting on someone who's YOUNG and not some fat white man with a southern drawl, who believes in conservative values, who's shown fiscal responsibility (i don't care if it was managing a mcdonald's on state street), who's not afraid to pray and attend church (pick a denomenation) when it's not on national TV, who's willing to tell the world to EFF OFF, turn that sandbox into a pane of glass, figure a way to get our good, fighting men and women home, wants TRULY to strengthen our borders AND inherently our national security (step 1 - get rid of this stupid, lazy azzed TSA and 'homeland security' bureuacratic quagmire), believes that the government's responsibility to "provide" starts and stops with providing said security and national infrastructure (and taxing to meet those goals alone), etc etc......i could go on and on and on, as i'm sure many on here could.

until the above individual comes to the forefront, on the national level, just like this last goat roping race for the "presidency", i'll have no one to vote far....

one day, ONE DAY, i'm going to sit down and write my state the union address (some on here have heard in when i was partaking of libations).

So Palin is out for Prez in '12....who is in? Could we see a Gingrich/Barbour ticket? Gator, your description of a fat white dude with the southern drawl just made Barbour jump in my head.
