Would someone explain how your member status changes here. How do you get to be a moderator and what do they do. I find this to be a very interesting and entertaining site and I would like to know more.

Moderator is assigned by the owner of the Forum. They monitor the forum and delete or correct someone that is being a butt. [img]images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img] [img]images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img]

They can do more than that but really they are to help Micah (owner) manage the accounts on the forum.

The rateing thing is a big joke, If someone likes ya they rate ya if they don't they rate ya. Way I look at it is your rated anyway ya look at it. Your either Good, Bad, or UGLY [img]images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img] [img]images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img]

The moderators are picked by Micah who owns the site. They are mostly folks who have been around the site since it started.

The moderators trim duplicate posts, and try to generally keep nasty language and purely personal attacks off the board. We have not been needed that much lately, and hopefully will not have much activity in the future...

The rating system is just sort of a popularity contest, I guess.

So what changes the member status (jr member to member, etc.)? I assume that after a certain number of posts, one loses his "Jr" status?

Well, what can a member do that a junior member can't?

No difference in junior members and members that I am aware of, other than just the number of posts.

I used to be a moderator on the old board. I didn't survive the move somehow. Oh well, it sucked having to be halfass nice to idiots at times. Now, I don't have to do that (Hi bluesky!... sometimes I do it for old times sake! bwhahahahaha). travis

Come to think of it, goose was a moderator. He goes all the way back to the very first original funny looking green board with the Judge, Scooter, yours truly and several more.

I thought I put Goose in as a moderator, but I guess I didn't. So Goose you still interested? The pay ain't great, but you do get that nifty title under you name. [img]images/smiles/icon_wink.gif[/img]
