Can someone point me in the direction to a guide or someone to go fishing with in NOLA. I am going to be there for a visit Feb. 13-16 and wanted to do some trout or red fishing. Thanks in advance for any help. Just shoot me an email.

Go to
http://www.saltwaterguideservice.com they are in golden meadow, which is about an hour from new orleans. I have fished with them numerous times and have never been dissappointed. Really good people and a great time.

I recommend Capt. Shane Mayfield with Adventure South Guide Service. He's a good guy, he'll work hard to put you on fish, and he lets you catch the fish. Check this link.

He fishes in the Port Sulphur to Venice area, about an hour south of the N.O. area.
Good luck.

I can recomend Capt. Billy Bucano of Titeline Charters, and probably several others fishing out of Delacroix Island/Hopedale La. That area is out in the Marsh from Chalmette and about as close as you can get to NOLA. You might want to check out rodnreel.com. I'll try to put the link below:

then click top left at Home, then lat the left for fishing charters and guides.
I understand Brian Epstien is also real good; 504-284-3316
Capt. Johnny AKA "The Fishing Magician" I have fished with. He is from that area a nd really knows the Marsh;504-676-3317

FISHUNTER GUIDE SERVICE
They are a great father and son team based out of NO. They fish out of a nice camp in Port Sulphur. Webfoot and I went last year, had a great trip; will be going back in April or May. They're duck hunters too. They donated a guided fishing trip to our local DW chapter this year.
Tell 'em Keith and Harden from Jackson sent you.

I have to go against you here and not recommend him. Shane used to be a good guide till he got the big head lately doing the tv shows and catering to the money rollers. We had a 2 day duck and fish trip with him in dec and he didn't try to put us on any fish, and the duck hunting was very poor due to no scouting. He told us the whole time the fish weren't biting and couldn't be found, but there were others catching fish, then I saw a ton of reds on the last day I was there with msducks member Jeff. Get in touch with Capt John Taylor Charters out of Buras, they'll put you on some fish.

Brent Roy or Bobby Warren out of Venice Marina would be my pick. They can put you on specks and reds when nobody else can. I don't have Brent's number handy but Bobby Warren's phone number is 504-382-8063. Give him a call. You will be glad you did.

I second CoCo Marinia in Cocodrie, LA. Johnny Glover and his guides are the best. you can not beat the food, atmosphere or the fishing. The have sunk their own wrecks for fishing habitat. These boys are serious. Check them out!

CoCo Marine is the place to be. Venice is good too but I have had better luck in Cocadrie
