Well my shotgun went out on me again and I'm tired of putting money into it. So what are some good shotguns within a decent price range?

i shoot a winchester super x 3 that has been used hard and hasn't given me a bit of trouble in 3 years and i carry an 870 just in case. I dont think you could go wrong with either 1.

One that goes boom every time. I like my Nova. Older 870's can't be beat either.

Waterfowling only? Or needs to be more versatile? Pump, auto, etc.? If an auto and for waterfowl, find a nice used jap (invector) Auto-5 Mag-12 and your grandkids can send me a thank-you note in 60 years.

Decent price range for you may be $2K or less, but may be $500 to me.
but in the grand scheme of things, guns are all personal preference. Find a gun that fits you. I'd start stopping in hunting stores all the time and picking them up. And then find out from friends / research if it is reliable.
Best thing would be to borrow friends guns to see how you shoot them. Gun may throw up great in the store but you may shoot it like crap.

I have been shooting a Browning Maxus this season. It has worked flawlessly.

Mossberg 835 is a good gun. Always go with a pump action. They won't jam up win rought conditions.

I had an 835 that jammed more than any auto. And kicked like a mule. Life's too short to shoot mossturds.

I got a Stoeger 2000 last year and love it! Has performed flawlessly and has a nice price tag. I hunt with a few folks shooting Benelli SBE II's and one of their guns wouldn't fire for them the other day! I just kept on shooting. Haven't had any problems at all so far!

Picked up a Benelli SuperNova this year and I love it. I'm 6'2" and have long arms, and found that the adjustable stock shims Benelli includes with the SuperNova help it fit me better than the 870 I had before it.
