So I've heard that throwing a sack of potatoes in a hole will attract ducks. To me this does not sound like a good idea but is there any truth to it? I'm also assuming that it would be the same as baiting yet you could remove the bait. Anyone want to shed some light on it for a poor Albanian boy?

I heard instant mashed potatoes work best.

Never minded gettin in trouble round here...Some of you take this stuff too seriously. Some of you selfrighteous types can KODA!!!!!!!!!!!! Making threats on GW and promoting illegal methods? Give me a break...Just cuz my dog thinks the truck is his don't mean he hates all GWs that walk up to it.
Only time I gotta ticket was the first year(?) of the $2 state stamp. Somehow I missed the info. Ticket then was $29.....Later DL "Outlaw"

I have also heard that doing jumping jacks in you r spread works wonders! Seems to work on my holes. The best quote is " you have to be where the ducks want to be". If they don't want in your hole you can put virgin hens out there and they ain't coming. I wouldn't waste the time or money with taters.

My dad used to bait a woody hole with cut up sweet taters around the edge on the bank and the shallows. Also swore by pouring cheap mollasiss in a spot they were using and the smell would get on there feathers and attract others back to the spot. Also, popcorn is good as well as floating catfish food.
