We rented that movie from a RedBox last night and thought it was very interesting. Anyone else got a chance to see it? Your thoughts?
I haven't done any research other than the movie, but they portrayed the guy who invented "napster", the music downloading site, as a pretty crappy guy and one of the main reasons Mark Zuckerberg and his first CFO split up.. Very interesting though..

I watched it. Very interesting movie. Sort of a brain teaser though. Honestly it was almost too easy. Did you notice that? They just had money rolling in right off the bat. Must be nice.

At one point they had an account with 1000 and before you knew it the cfo started another account with 18000 and sent Mark to Cali with interns and a house? The next number was a 500K investment and a restructuring of the company then the millions rolled it.
The CFO ( I can't remember his name so I'll continue to call him cfo) signed his own death trap without reviewing the papers. BUT it was crappy of his "best friend" to structure his contract as it was (assuming Mark knew about it, they make the Napster guy as the bad party there). He had every right to come after Mark for an "undisclosed" amount.
Now for the 2 twins, I dunno if they had the rights or not. Fine line with having an idea and someone capitalizing on something similar. I can see where they came from with their argument.
Either way, for informative and interesting they was it was presented. I enjoyed it. Yeah Mark had it pretty easy once the money started rolling in. And he was an All-American Smart Ass.

We watched it Sunday night too! I thought it was awesome! I agree about the twins. They really didn't have any right to be suing over an "idea." That part was BS I think. Now the whole thing with the CFO getting screwed like that, I don't agree. The Napster guy was sorry as hell and a shady character I think. I had no idea he had anything to do with Facebook.

I'm pretty sure a good number of "creative liberties" were taken with the plot. I looked up some of the events after I watched the movie and it seems that the movie, in parts, strays from what "really" happened.

Recently saw the movie on a plane. I am not a member of FB and will not become one, but the movie was pretty interesting.

I did a little reading this afternoon and it appears the movie is a "dramatic" version with somethings skewed for TV. either way, it was a neat movie.. Not the whole truth by any means but a "summary" so to speak.

Most movies based on a real story stray from the original plot so they can get more "drama" out of it.
