Of course we will need a plane, lots of time off, and money.
Duck hunters in South Australia will be able to take double the number of birds this season over last year.
The SA Government has increased bag limits and the length of the season.
It says more water has led to better breeding conditions.
The duck hunting season will run from February 19 until June 26.

Only problem is, you can't import birds from Australia back into the states.

I take it "the Greens" are the tree huggers in that area calling for independent study. I loved the part where the person against it said the season was just for blowing ducks out of the sky. Well duh. That quote just caught as funny. Sort of like one of my sayings, don't state the obvious the merely obvious will do.

I'm not talking about for food. Yes, eat what you kill, but if you wanted to bring any back to have mounted, you can't. Also, there is a ton of paperwork that takes months to complete and costs some money to get a gun into Australia.

Why go over there to put up with all the antis, regs, and the inability to get your trophies home when you could go to Argentina and shoot till you get tired, then wake up and do it all over again? Australia has a lot of species, but you can't shoot all of them and can only hunt in limited areas. New Zealand is a good option also as you can bring birds back. One wouldn't think that going half way around the world your main goal would be to eat ducks when all the international cuisine awaits.

Good on ya Waterfowler. Your using your brain. So when should I expect you guys? The waterfowl season begins May the 1st. There are Big Game and Varments here that don't require a licence and don't have a season too. As for traditional food, We can put down our own Hangi (Maori Quisine)
