Recommendations for fish mounting

I have a crappie I want to mount. Does anyone have any suggestions on who to take it to? I'd prefer it be within 1.5 to 2 hours from Winston County. Thanks.

I'd have to agree on that one. he does a heck of a job on fish and he is one heck of a nice guy as well.

I think he charges extra for post-spawn fish, though.
Sorry, I couldn't help it. It was a nice fish and bigger than any crappie I ever caught.

John Hamilton with To The Extreme Taxidermy is by far the best I have ever seen.

Have you considered a replica? All you have to do is take a picture for color. Get some measurements and you can throw the fish back or throw him in the fryer. When I used to film for a fishing show we fished out of the country alot and was such a pain in the booty to bring a fish back on a airplane with us. If the host would catch a fish he wanted to mount he would get a replica made and you really would never know any difference unless someone told you it wasn't a real fish.

The fish is already in the freezer. I have it narrowed down to a couple of guys and will be calling around Friday to get some details.

don't know how far it is from mendenhall, but bill conn in mccomb ms mounted mine a couple of years ago. he did a pair for me. 3.13 ounce 19 inches long and a 2.05 that i caught the same day.
he charged me like 150 a fish i think. i've never heard bad opinions about his work( don't mean they're not out there though).
just another idea.

I had a guy in Greenville do mine and they are the best crappie mounts I have seen. I have a 3lb 9oz, 3lb 4oz and a 3 even all mounted on the same piece of drift wood. I don't know how to post pictures but if you will email me I will send you some. The guy's place was called True Life taxidermy. I can put you in contact with him.
