in one picture. Had these three strutting at 75 yards today. As far as I could tell, there was only one hen with them.

here they are coming in.

as close as they would come.

I'll give them a shot again next week.

75 yds? That is what they make 3.5" hevishot for. Aim 5 inches high at 75.

My rule is under 40. So they got a pass.

Oh, I can imagine how the text messaging went

LawDawg: I had 3 of them hang up at 75 yds this morning, can't figure out what to do? I need them at 40 yds
Gator: Sit 35 yds closer to the feeder, and be sure and load up 3 shells
LawDawg: There ain't no feeder, and I don't plan to shoot but one.
Gator: Yeah that is the way we are going to tell it to everyone else.

hahah. you stole gator's phone? trying to explain to gator that 3 shells just will NOT fit in an over/under was the toughest thing to do. :D :D :D

Not gonna tell how badly I blew it Saturday.

How do you get away with toting the camera and a shot gun? I wouldn't know which one to grab! Are hunting out of a blind?

to be honest, as soon as I heard them gobble and knew it was multiples, I put the gun down and picked up the camera. I figured that the other guys could handle it if they came in range. I've been wanting to get some strutting pictures and they were about 20 yards away from the PERFECT picture.

No blind. Just the ole back to the pine tree

I see. That I could do. When I'm hunting with someone I would prefer for them to pull the trigger, too. Usually by myself, though, and I'd be kidding myself to think that I'd chose the camera over the gun. Gonna leave the gun at home one of these day, though! Nice shots!

I agree, at this point in my turkey hunting career, I am way to mad at them to say I could put the gun down and take the camera.
If someone needed a caller / camera man, I'd do it. But just going out and shooting pictures and not shells would be hard for me right now.
Good pics Alec.
