For all puppies to be clear that means that both parents are clear...I'm pretty sure.

With the puppies being all clear for the parents to not be would be almost impossiable. But I am waiting on the results from Nash & Bayden before I say one way or the other.

most likely you are correct. But I was hoping that someone that has researched the subject and would chime in here with some ideas...........

Statistically, the probability is high that both dogs are clear. The tests will tell for sure.

I can confirm 100% that Bayden is clear

Abby is clear and so is Buddy thru parentage.

Just because the puppies are clear doesn't mean the parents are. statistically one could be a carrier and one clear. that would mean 25% carriers and 75% clear. Now with that said you could get a litter of all clears or all carriers. It doesn't mean the litter would fall exactly as the % falls. its somewhat random but averages lean that way. male and female pups, you have a 50/50 split in each litter right? wrong! Odds are good that both parents are going to come back clear, but not for sure, but more importantly there is so much more to learn about EIC. There very well may be another gene that has to be involved to act as a trigger. In curly coates there is a disproportionate amount of dogs testing affected to the amount that have actually had a visible episode. Why I do believe its good to know our dogs status, and thus not breed two carriers, or an affected to a carrier, we should not ever frown on a dog if it is a carrier because a carrier bred to a clear will never produce an affected pup. I do commend you for having your puppies tested because it reinforces what we all know and that is you are a responsible Lab owner. Congrats on all coming back clear. I hope that it is likewise for the parents.
