Best shells for 870

I'm shooting a Rem 870 28" barrel 3inch chambering modified choke. I wanted to know if anyone was shooting this setup and what shells pattern best for you.

All guns will pattern diff. and the brand choke your using will factor in as well. Just shoot what you can afford until you find the one you like. I go cheap, when you get em in close it doesnt much matter what kind of shell your shooting.

I went cheap, had 2 xperts snap and delay fire on me the first week last season. I bought a case of 3 inch number 3 kents the next day and never had a problem.

I had this set up last year. 870 with the mod factory choke and in a kicks high flyer full these shot best for me
Heavy steel #6
Winchester supreme dryloks #2
Kents #2,3 & 4s were good
Black cloud was horrible, heavy metal was horrible. I could not get the xperts to do to good either for some reason in any shot. Either were great at 40 yards and horrible between 20-30 or great at 20-30 and horrible at 40.

I would find some friends and see if they would let you borrow a few different types of shells and pattern them.

I've got your same setup and I love the Rem #2 3in HyperSonic and the Kent #3 3in

I shoot kent when I can, but mostly sexperts...
