New duck call marketing gone wild?

Is it me or do the new duck calls have a more creative description every year. They almost sound like they are describing a fine single malt scotch.

Tamdhu - 10-year-old Speyside Single Malt Scoth of the Highlands:
It has a rather hard, peppery front-side bite to it that just about any whiskey lover could appreciate. Some that like the lighter, sweeter flavors of expensive single malts, might not care for this as much. As it goes down it finishes off rather abruptly with very little of the familiar fruit, bubble gum, and vanilla you'd expect from a really expensive Single Malt Scotch. I noted a bit of apricot. The good news is that Tamdhu is not very expensive at all and it has a nice salty finish. A great front-end bite and fruity but quick finisher just the same!

I think I'll have a scotch & water and blow my new duck call.

and what makes no sense to me what so ever is the fact that grown men are acting like school kids over the latest mouse trap that has been made....you would think that with the abilities of the many talented call makers out there, they could build a call that worked and be done with it.but that does little for future bank account defecits so they build a new one each year and talk it up real good..leaving us retards no choice but to buy them

I buy cheap calls like a $30 redleg or $20 Haydels DR-85. They seem to work just fine. If i break it or drop it in the water I go buy me another. I have not bought in to the 3.5" shells either, I think they are a waste. All you are getting is some more pellets, You don't gain any velocity usually. I have killed many a duck with the $99 a case shells.

I agree. You don't need the high end acrylic or wood calls if they make a poly in the same call. I never went for the 3.5" shells either. I would still be at 2 3/4", 1 1/2oz of #6 lead if it was legal. Those loads would roll a duck out like wholesale carpet.

I gotta admit I like the nice duck calls though. That is my wallet weak spot for duck stuff.

No doubt. some of those 12+ year olds should come with a new duck call. I like all the 'glens' too... Dalmore is a good one... and you can never go wrong with a wee dram of 'The Macallan'

naw actually.. i just watch the ducks.. find where they're wanting to be.. and get there.. have greeeeaaaat success and very little calling needed.

Glens & Macallan mostly but my current malt of choice is Ben Riachi or something or other. Never could spell........especially when im on the malt
