I prefer my custom built 48" double barrel 8guage Waterfowl Widowmaker.
Only two in existence the other was co-owned by a couple boys from down around Auburn

What was it the 5 guage or something like that from TK and Mike duck hunting? If you get your hands on one of them you will get a mixed bag everyday or over the limit if not enough people with you!

Serious note. I like the 22in with a patternmaster extended choke with 3 1/2 black coulds max payload on a 10g.

It was an 8 guage, like the person that posted before you said

On a serious note, you'd never get to take a gun with a 22" barrel to one of my duck pits. Way too short andtoo easy to leave everybody with ringing ears and a headache.

^^ Agreed. Even 24" is too short for me. Ya'll can take that loud m'fer somewhere else.

But them short barrels can reach on out there like no others! Wear ear miffed fixes the noise in the pits. Make sure barrel is outside above pit level or its really bad.

Super Xtra full Turkey choke with 3 1/2" T shot. Works like a charm.

Sorry man, just yankin yer chain abit. To many variables in your question. But there are probably hundreds of previous posts on this, some are probably even on this page. Do you own a shotgun? Are you looking for setting it up? Maybe I'm just getting soft in my old age, anyway welcome to the board and stick around for abit if your looking for advise. There are some more knowledgeable people than me on the subject. I shoot a nova, don't know how long the barrel is but its a factory mod choke(I guess). Whin. Dryloc 3" #2 or 4 do everything I need to do. Main thing is wait til you can see the whites of their eyes.....

I shoot a 26" barrel with a carlson close range extended or a comp n choke ported skeet. Works great with fast 3" #4s. Cant beat it inside 40 yards. Of course that is just my experience with those setups. This setup is not for skyblastin'
