Interesting fact about Gay rights

I dont say this to offend anyone, I say this because it offends me. I was reading on another board and they were discussing all this gay marriage stuff. Did you know, because I didn't, the gay people can't donate blood. Now how fair is that. With the blood shortage in the US, a certain group can get blood but can't donate! That just seems extremly wrong. I just thought I would throw this fact out, since there doesnt seem to be anything happening here.

Why should they have their own blood bank? If they did, the same risks would be in place. Not every gay person has AIDS and I'm sure they wouldn't want AIDS infected blood more than you do.

First, let me say that I believe gay/lesbian relationships to be immoral, unnatural, and I would like for them to be illegal. I have very strong personal feelings about the whole thing. The gay marriage issue should never even be an issue and I hope the legislatures have the courage to defend against what I see as one further erosion of the American Family. And I have no problem voicing my opinion and support for it.

But, I encourage you to be careful what you put into writing on a public forum. Not that you are liable for your opinion, but gay-rights organizations cut and paste topics like this, then take it to the legislatures and other decision-makers as proof that this kind of blatant gay-bashing is what they are supporting if they vote to ban gay marriages, same-sex spousal privileges, etc. They use what you threw out as a casual "funny" against you and paint everyone who opposes them with that language. I have seen it up close and personal in our school system when a group wanted to start a Gay/Straight Alliance Club in our school system. They bring a littany of notebooks filled with anti-gay, gay-bashing, ignorant sounding soundbites copied from all sources just like this one. Then, they present their argument..."Is this what you want to stand for?"

I will never back down from my own opinion on this one, but I will make sure no one will ever use my words to make an argument for them! Let's make it a bit more difficult for them by not getting in the gutter with them. Voice you opinion, be strong in it, but keep it where they can't use it as part of their argument. Please don't give them firewood that they then use to light a fire under our own butts!

When you donate blood they ask if you've had butt sex, I guess since they all do then that is what degates them from being able to donate.

Hate to say it, bit Ben A's got a point......

At 41, I will have been married 20 years this summer.....That same summer 20 years ago, 5 other couples my wife and I knew married within a few weekends of one another.....

Today, my wife and I, and one other couple are still married....4 of 6 couples that married those weekends in 1984 are divorced ! Some of those 4 have been married and divorced several times since then.

Americans today arent willing to stick with anything, including the hard times that come to any marriage.....Marriage as an institution in America has been dying for years...not because of gay people, but because straight people arent devoted to one another when they marry, they arent willing to work hard at anythin, and because it has become socially acceptable to marry and divorce.

I cant tell you how many kids I see on baseball teams, etc. who are shuttled back and forth between mom and stepdad, dad and stepmom, etc etc etc....have 1/2 brothers, step brothers and who knows what else.

What impact do you think that will have on society in a couple of generations ? More than a couple of fruits in Atlanta with a marriage certificate, I guarantee you !

My 2 cents for what its worth.

Fella's you can say poke fun do whatever saywhatever....that you'll not accept blood from a Gay person. I say BS if your on your death bed and the doctor told you "Listen duck hunter you have only one chance to make it home to see the kids and the dog and thats taking this blood from
GAY Ronnie" now if your so stedfast in your convictions then don't take the blood call in your kids and the dog and tell them that you wont share in their first graduation tell your old dog Moma will take care of you but you'll never smell that green head floating 30 feet from the blind again. Thats your choice I support it. I for one would rather have American homo blood in MY veins and see My grand kids grow then have a place for them to come and visit me wishing Gee if poppa would of just taken that blood I miss him.
