Japanese Millet

Postby Doc Holliday » Tue Sep 13, 2011 12:13 pm

I planted japanese millet about three weeks ago and it is up about 6 inches. I was wondering if i should fertilize and if so what kind of fertilizer is best for millet. I would like to get it fertilized before the chance of rain toward the end of the week. Thanks.

Drake,
IMO, I would go with straight Amm Nit this late in the game. You need a quick burst of growth before the first frost of the year. I may be wrong and maybe someone else could give you (and me) some insite.

Fertilizer can prolong maturity. If you are racing against first frost date, I would skip the fertilizer.
Are we gonna get wet?
