Swamp chestnut acorns

Last year I stored them in the fridge in ziploc bag with moist paper towel. planted and none of them sprouted.I have about 150 of them this year and am wondering how should I store them.are swamp chestnut different from sawtooth and white oaks in how you should store them because my sawtooth and white oaks did good this spring

Don't store them. Plant them now.

Some acorn require stratification, some do not (like sawtooth). I prefer moist peat moss to a napkin and placing in the crisper. Also if you zip the bag all the way, your acorns will rot. Some acorns need up to a year in this process for them to germinate. The best book on the subject is Michael Dirr's manual of woody landscape plants. He lists by species the number of days for this. I would look it up for you but my ex wife has it.

Swamp chestnut requires no seed pretreatment according to Dirr.

That's one of my favorite all time oak trees. LOVE when they completely cover the ground with big ol fat ripe green acorns. You can literally hear a deer "popping" them from 50 yards away.
