Looking for a job and not having much luck. Graduated undergrad with a business degree and finished law school in May. Passed the MS bar. Looking for either attorney position or a business job. Any tips are appreciated.

Unless you love the law, this may be a blessing in disguise for you. I would leverage the law degree into something better in the business world. To be honest, if I were you, I'd get a job working offshore just to get some decent income and then attempt to leverage that job within the company to move up quickly in management (at a company like Rowan). I know it sounds crazy, but if you desire a 6 figure income within the next 5 years, that will be your quickest route IMO.

Edit: There are plenty of jobs in the O&G arena. http://www.rigzone.com/jobs/

Look into either being a State or Federal bank examiner.

Lot's of med / pharm companies are looking for compliance officers. Essentially your role is to keep their people from speaking off label or inadvertently making false claims. Most of the ones we have law degrees. Not sure how much experience is required or what somethinglike that pays

I know that this is NOT what you are looking for. But with the economy as shaky as it is right now (and for the forseeable near future), I suggest you not overlook this thread. (also known as "thinking outside the box". I know it is a cliche', but it works.)

I am not suggesting that you directly apply for this opening. I DO, however, suggest that you talk with this guy and you may find something that may help you both. Who knows, he may need more than a simple 'manager', or he may know someone who needs your particular skillsets, or you may just find your perfect career. Good luck, and keep us posted.

What type of law did you specialize in?
What did you do for your 1L and 2L internships? Why wont they hire you?
Where did you clerk?
What specific skills have you developed that give you an age over the others?
What was your graduating rank in law school?
What experience did you gain before you went to law school?
What is the five year plan?
