So, we are now in the home stretch of the 2011-12 Duck Season. I have a feeling that the report card will reflect poorly (outside of Torch). How do you rate this season so far as compared to previous seasons?

I'll give it a nice fat F based on lack of opportunity and lack of birds when opportunity presents for me personally.

Had some good hunts but numbers are down.

Great ,considering the few times I have been because of lack of birds,only couple bad hunts

Probably the best year we've had since pre-Katrina. Think it had to do with you guys in the delta being so dry the early part of the season, had our numbers up and the birds just decided to stay around for the long haul but we have consistently shot limits all year long. Hope north delta has a strong ending cause im fix'en to show ma booty up there.

well as slow as its been for everyone else, no one in my camp better complain because we're on pace for record numbers (south delta). it's been slow at times but we've had several burn'em up hunts. i would give it a B+ so far. only way it could get better would be more big ducks in the mix. amount of water hurt us around christmas too. but it's going down, and as a result more ducks on the straps.

Had some great hunts, and a couple terrible hunts. There has been no consistancy. Our #'s are almost the same as last year at this point (a little less) but the big difference is we are only at 25% of the mallards we killed last year at this point.

I figure that is why some people rate this season on complete opposite ends of the spectrum. If you normally shoot mixed bags on your place, then this season is pretty average. If Mallards make up most of what you normally shoot, then yes, this season would probably be slower than normal.

I got to be home for the hunting season, and not working. That in itself was worth it.
