I am confused as to what is the legal weapon from Nov 9-18 on private land? I have read and asked and have been told it must be a single shot, exposed hammer, 35, 444, etc and I have also been told that you can shoot any long rifle ? Which is right? thanks

Have not looked at this year but if I remember correctly last year it was any rifle but doe only.

My understanding is that the early primitive weapon season (Nov 7-18) is the only one that you have to use a "primitive" weapon (i.e; smoke pole or 45/70, 35 Whelen, 444). This is private land only & doe only. The other 2 primitive weapon seasons are "weapon of choice" (i.e; your regular deer rifle), but you must have a primitive weapon license.
Hope this helps. If its wrong, someone will correct me.
