gun problem

Postby quakwacker » Wed Feb 04, 2015 1:22 pm

Winchester Super X 2 won't cycle shells. I think it's because the gas piston is gunked up. I have always cleaned it regularly but I can't get down in the ports like I think I need to. I have gone through 2 cans of gun scrubber and that hasn't cut it. Any suggestions?

already done that. No problems there. It's in that gas piston.

Have you cleaned the gas ports under the barrel ring? As far as the gas piston, get to scrubbing with some Hoppes #9. Also, check the magazine spring. It may be broken or very gunked up also.

It is definatley the piston. I got up with a guy that has the same gun and took his piston off and put it on my gun. It worked like a dream. Guess I'll be buying a new piston soemwhere

Check with Snake River Marine for an "aftermarket" beefier version, if they still make them.

Find someone that reloads and has a ultra sonic cleaner, get them to clean it for you.
